此更新修复了以下安全问题：流氓 DHCP 服务器可指示客户端使用包含 shell 元字符的主机名。由于系统中的许多脚本不应有系统主机名中不常见的字符，DHCP 客户端需要对服务器提供的主机名进行审查 (CVE-2011-0996)。
此更新也修复了以下非安全问题：
- 564441：e1000 和 dhcpd hickup
- 565030：dhcpcd 不使用 dhcp 服务器选项 33 的路由器组件 (静态路由)
- 574938：系统更新无法部署到主服务器。
- 577402：使用修补程序 bnc#565030 的 dhcpcp 有 /32 网络掩码的 netlink 错误
- 601704：dhcpcd：忽略链接载波且不重传
- 654649：dhcpcd 忽略 -G (--nogateway) 选项并设置默认路由
- 657402：dhcpcd 将 RENEWAL 作为以太网广播（而非单播）发送
- 668194：部分校验和卸载导致 dhcp 客户端在 Xen domU 中无法正常工作
