Synopsis
Proof of Concept
- Victim user opens FileZilla client application.
- Attacker has modified and compiled psftp.c to include a payload of his/her choosing.
- Attacker convinces victim to connect to his/her server using FileZilla. Victim is tricked into downloading the attacker's malicious 'fzsftp' binary to the victim's home directory.
- Victim restarts the FileZilla client.
- Victim opens a new SFTP connection to any server.
Solution
Upgrade to FileZilla 3.41.0 or newer.
